Samantha’s father Joseph Prabhu has passed away. The Citadel: Honey Bunny actress took to social media to confirm the news and shared a heartbreaking post. On her Instagram story section, she wrote, “Until we meet again, Dad” along with a broken heart emoji.
A couple of days ago, the actress opened up about her relationship with her father. She said that she had to fight for validation growing up and even after getting good grades in school, her father would not praise her. “All my life growing up, I had to fight for validation. My father was kind of like… I think most Indian parents are like that. They think they’re protecting you. He told me, ‘You’re not that smart.’ [He told me]‘This is just the standard of Indian education. That’s why even you can get a first rank. When you say that to a child, I believed for the longest time that I’m not smart or good enough.”
