Finnish Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas has taken the internet by storm after completing an ‘Ironman’ triathlon circuit in his backyard. Bottas is set to leave Kick Sauber at the end of the ongoing F1 season but he showed no signs of physical slowdown in his triathlon adventure. A journalist shared the compilation video of Bottas’ activities on X. “Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas decided to do an Ironman (at home) during his off week. 11 hours, 7000 calories burned. He did the swim portion in his pool and then used a peloton and indoor treadmill for the bike and run. What a madman,” the post read.

The video began with Valtteri Bottas waking up from sleep before jumping straight into his swimming pool. As he came out of the water the F1 racer claimed he had completed 3800 metres of swim. He then put on a pair of shorts before hopping on a peloton to complete 180 km of cycling. Bottas even had his lunch on the gym equipment as he sweated through to his goal. After cycling the F1 racer quickly switched to the treadmill to complete a marathon run (42.1 km). Bottas could be seen throwing his arms in the air as he reached his goal.

Several fans have now poured their reactions to Valtteri Bottas’ incredible showcase of physical fitness. One of them wrote, “Doing the run on the assault runner is mental stuff.”

Another said, “I like how he first mentioned ‘body starts hurting’ after he completed the swim and bike as if my body didn’t start hurting watching him do this video.”

One fan wrote, “The willpower to do that in a pool and stationary bike and treadmill is ridiculous.”

Another hoped to see Bottas in racing action soon. “Boots has been one of my favourites for a while. I really hope he finds his way back into a car somewhere,” he wrote.

“Valtteri Bottas taking on a full Ironman at home during off week is next-level dedication! 11 hours and 7,000 calories burned – this guy is a machine, both on and off the track,” wrote one more.

Valtteri Bottas’ most recent performance was at the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Mark Sauber driver finished in 13th place at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace on November 3. Sauber is currently set to become an Audi factory outfit in 2026. They announced in April that German driver Nico Hulkenberg will join the Swiss-based team next season.
