The Rajas of Britain’s family are old masters of the art of staying in headlines. Now, they seem to have mastered communicating with each other without exchanging a word, adding the lower lip to the upper lip in the stiffness department. A royal commentator has reportedly suggested that the famously garrulous Prince Charles-now-turned-king may have sent a ‘hidden message’ about keeping the door open for Harry and Meghan Markle‘s potential return to royal duties. The couple’s relationship with the Buck Pal mother lode – now, father lode, we suppose – deteriorated since their exit in 2020 from what Brits call the ‘The Firm’ but is actually a very hi-end mom’n’pop kirana that sells souvenirs. Reports now indicate that Charles is keen on mending family ties, and Harry non-Potter is eager to spend more time near Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

But has this cryptic, non-verbal messaging reached the red-haired prince? Or is it so well-hidden that only royal commentators have sniffed its existence (read: cooked it up)? Such reunions are lovely. But we’d rather have Paul McCartney send Ringo Starr a secret missive – a cryptic bass line, perhaps – for a Beatles reunion. Whether Harry and Charlie get together, perhaps rushing towards each other in slo-mo, with the season finale ending in waving from the balcony, wait for the next episode of The Clown.
