The group’s agency notified fans of Taeil’s departure from the group. They released a press release, which read, “We have recently learned that Taeil has been accused in a criminal case related to a sexual offense. As we were assessing the facts related to the matter, we recognized the severity of the situation and determined that Taeil could no longer continue his activities with the team (NCT). After discussing with Taeil, we have decided on his departure from the group.”
The press note further added that further statements on the matter would be provided after full investigation. The current NCT members have also unfollowed the singer from their social media accounts. Taeil has been unfollowed from NCT and NCT 127’s social media profiles as well. Former members, Taeyong, Doyoung, and Haechan, have also unfollowed him after the news broke.
