Big news for Britney Spears fans. Universal Pictures has just snagged the movie rights to Britney’s memoir, The Woman in Me, and they’re gearing up to turn it into a biopic. The studio won the rights after a heated auction and has tapped Jon M. Chu, the director behind Crazy Rich Asians and In the Heights, to helm the project. Marc Platt, known for hits like Wicked and La La Land, is set to produce.

Britney herself shared her excitement on X, hinting at her collaboration with Marc Platt and promising fans some thrilling updates. Her memoir, which has sold over 2.5 million copies since last October, dives into her journey from Disney to pop superstardom and her battle with conservatorship.
With music biopics buzzing in Hollywood lately, like those of Elvis Presley and Amy Winehouse, Britney’s story is sure to be a hit!
