Canadian actor Donald Sutherland featured in some excellent films like The Hunger Games, Pride & Prejudice, Don’t Look Now, to name a few. The actor passed away last night, at the age of 88, after a bout of prolonged sickness. According to reports, he was combating several illnesses such as polio, hepatitis and rheumatic fever.
His son Kiefer Sutherland took to social media to share the news. Kiefer penned down a post that read,” With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film.”
Furthermore he added, “Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.”
The actor is survived by his wife Francine Racette and sons Rossif, Angus, Roeg, Kiefer and daughter Rachel along with four grandchildren.
