Manoj Bajpayee reveals that he regrets backing out of Devdas


One of Bollywood’s most versatile actors, Manoj Bajpayee has been in the news lately because of his recent release Bhaiyya Ji. The film released in theatres on May 24. In a recent interview, Manoj Bajpayee revealed some interesting details about his career.

Talking about turning down films, he said that he has no regrets about having turned down any project in his career, nor has any film turned down by him done exceedingly well commercially. However, he does regret backing out of  Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2002 period drama Devdas in which he was offered the role of Chunilal.

Sharing further, he revealed that he backed out of the film because he had always desired to play the titular role, which was beautifully played by Shah Rukh Khan. Recently, actor Shekhar Suman also said that he was offered the role of Chunilal, which ultimately went to Jackie Shroff.

Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Devdas was a huge hit.
