The nepotism debate is currently catching a lot of steam on social media. Now, whether we like it or not, nepotism is a part of every field and those coming from a successful family in a particular field will have an advantage from the so called ‘outsiders’. However, over the years, we’ve seen several examples of star kids who decided to not go the same route as their parents. So, we decided to list five kids of famous celebrities who didn’t get into acting.
1. Rhea Kapoor
Being born into Anil Kapoor’s home comes with its fair share of expectations. While Rhea maintained her connection to the world of cinema, instead of opting to be an actor like siblings Sonam Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor, she decided to become a producer. Rhea not only managed to stand out by backing female centric projects like Aisha, Khoobsurat and more recently, Veere Di Wedding, but she also tasted massive success at the ticket windows.
2. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni is the daughter of late Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, two massively popular stars of Indian cinema. In fact, her brother Ranbir Kapoor too is regarded as one of the finest talents in the industry. However, while Riddhima might not be passionate about movies, she sure is passionate for a whole lot of things. Riddhima is a successful jewellery designer and interior designer. She even has often displayed her skill on social media along with flaunting her passion for fitness and yoga.
3. Shweta Bachchan Nanda
Shweta Bachchan Nanda comes from a super filmy family. However, she chose to make her career outside the film industry and also tasted success while she was at it. Apart from being an entrepreneur, the 46 year old has tried her hands as an author with the book The Paradise Towers.
4. Anshula Kapoor
While Anshula’s siblings Arjun Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor opted to try their luck in front of the camera, Anshula went the complete opposite route. A leading daily states that she’s worked with Google on their project of AdWords and also as an operations manager for Hrithik Roshan’s brand HRX. Anshula now runs a celebrity fundraising platform through which she’s able to raise money for charity.
5. Shaheen Bhatt
Alia Bhatt is one of the best talents of the generation but her sister Shaheen Bhatt decided to stay away from the cameras. However, Shaheen did work as an assistant director Raaz 3: The Third Dimension and also was one of the screenwriters for the Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Son Of Sardaar. In 2018, she released her very own book I’ve Never Been (Un)Happier, in which she wrote about her battle with depression.
