In a recent interview promoting her new series, Karmma Calling, Raveena Tandon shared insights into her past collaborations with Shah Rukh Khan during the 1990s. She revealed that despite their initial plans to work on four films together, various issues hindered each project. One film faced cancellation due to the director’s demise, while Raveena withdrew from another due to dissatisfaction with the costumes. Even though they collaborated on Zamana Deewana, it faced delays, and the opportunity to share the screen as intended never materialised.
Raveena, speaking in an interview, described Shah Rukh Khan as a “genuinely warm, caring person.” Reflecting on the missed opportunities, she mentioned being offered the role played by Juhi Chawla in Yash Chopra’s Darr but chose to decline. Raveena cited discomfort with certain scenes, even though they weren’t explicitly vulgar.
Darr marked a significant role for Shah Rukh Khan, portraying an anti-hero grappling with mental health issues. Raveena’s decision to step back from the film was influenced by her discomfort with certain scenes. The highly anticipated web series Karmma Calling, directed by Ruchi Narain, premiered on OTT on Republic Day, featuring Raveena Tandon in the role of Indrani Kothari.
Looking ahead, Raveena is set to feature in Welcome To The Jungle, the third instalment in the Welcome series, directed by Ahmed Khan. The movie marks her reunion with Akshay Kumar after a significant hiatus and boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Disha Patani, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Sanjay Dutt, and more.
