Sony has announced a new State of Play event for today, September 14, where it is expected to showcase several games, including indie and several third-party games.

Sony has announced a new State of Play event for today, September 14, where it is expected to showcase several games ranging across different genres.

According to Sony, the broadcast will focus on “previously announced games coming to PlayStation consoles,” spanning from “indie and PS VR2 highlights, to major upcoming titles from our third-party partners.”

What Not To Expect

This event follows the PlayStation Showcase that took place in May earlier this year, during which the gaming giant revealed the revival of Marathon by Bungie, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gameplay, and even hardware announcements, including the new handheld remote play device called PlayStation Portal (previously known as Project Q).

Of course, PlayStation Showcases are typically more substantial and packed with content compared to the State of Play events. Therefore, during today’s State of Play, don’t expect any first-party reveals featuring new IPs or sequels to games like Ghost of Tsushima.

Additionally, it must be noted that Sony hasn’t advertised Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to be featured in today’s State of Play event, considering the game’s scheduled launch next month on October 20, 2023. Previously, we have seen Sony organize State of Play events for games like Horizon Forbidden West. However, it’s worth noting that Sony has already showcased extensive gameplay during the PlayStation Showcase earlier this year.

How to Watch the PlayStation State of Play Event in India:

For gamers in India, the State of Play will be live-streamed on PlayStation’s YouTube channel and Twitch at 2:30 AM IST on September 15. For those in other time zones: 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET / 10 pm BST.

“Here at PlayStation, our vision is to be the best place to play and publish great games. Because there are thousands of developers and publishers all around the world constantly creating outstanding games, our team has their work cut out for them,” said Shawne Benson, Director, Head of Portfolio, Global Third-Party Relations.
