Mohra
Director: Rajiv Rai
In 1994, Mohra emerged as one of the standout successes. Suniel Shetty took on the role of Vishal, a former convict imprisoned for exacting vengeance on four criminals who brutally raped and murdered his sister-in-law, Rita. Freed from incarceration through the efforts of journalist Roma (Raveena Tandon) and her superior Jindal (Naseeruddin Shah), Vishal encounters resistance from Roma’s boyfriend, Inspector Amar (Akshay Kumar). Amar opposes Vishal’s release and engages in physical confrontations with him. Now embroiled in drug smuggling and in the employ of Jindal, Vishal evolves into a pawn—a ‘mohra’—for Jindal’s criminal designs. Jindal himself is a smuggler exploiting Vishal’s services to evade law enforcement.
Border
Director: JP Dutta
Based on the real-life war of the Battle of Longewala in 1971, Border remains one of the iconic movies of all time. Within the film, Suniel Shetty embodies the character of BSF Commandant Bhairon Singh, delivering an exhilarating performance that resonates with a genuine soldier’s patriotism and passion for the nation.
Hera Pheri
Director: Priyadarshan
Adapted from the 1989 Malayalam film Ramji Rao Speaking, Hera Pheri has gained a cult following over the years for its hilarious and memorable dialogues, as well as the chemistry between the lead actors. The plot revolves around three main characters Raju, Shyam and Baburao who accidentally get involved in a ransom scheme after a wrong phone call. The film’s humour, quirky characters, and funny situations have made it a beloved classic in Indian cinema.
Dhadkan
Director: Dharmesh Darshan
This movie sees Suniel Shetty as the main antagonist of the film, playing the role of Anjali’s (Shilpa Shetty) past lover, Dev who re-enters her life and starts destroying her happy life with her husband Ram (Akshay Kumar). For Dhadkan, Suniel Shetty won the Filmfare Award for Best Villain.
Main Hoon Na
Director: Farah Khan
One of the best Shah Rukh Khan films, Main Hoon Na revolves around an Indian Army officer, played by Shah Rukh Khan, who goes undercover as a college student to protect the daughter of a general from a terrorist threat. The film sees Suniel Shetty as the main antagonist who looks cool and classic as he fights SRK’s Ram in the climax.
