Samantha Ruth Prabhu has reportedly opted to prioritise her health and take a break from acting. The actress is currently fighting Myositis, an autoimmune disease, and intends to take a one-year hiatus from the film industry. After completing her work on Citadel India and Kushi, she has declined to sign any new Telugu, Tamil, or Bollywood projects and has returned the advance payments to producers.
A source who spoke to a leading news portal stated that Samantha will be taking a break from work for a year and will not be accepting any new film offers in Telugu or Bollywood. During this time, she intends to focus on improving her health and seeking further treatment. Additionally, Samantha has returned the advance payments she had received from producers in the past.
The source further said, “Samantha is currently shooting the film Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda. This is the film’s final shooting schedule, which will be completed in two or three days. She is nearly finished with Citadel and will be free of commitments with this.”
In October 2022, Samantha announced her diagnosis of Myositis by posting a picture from the hospital on Instagram. She had previously discussed the effects of the disease and its treatment during the Shaakuntalam promotions earlier this year.
Samantha will be starring alongside Vijay Deverakonda in Kushi, and she will be working with Varun Dhawan for the Raj & DK series.
