Ameesha Patel is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, where she is reuniting with Sunny Deol. Recently in an interview, Ameesha revealed that discussing her relationships in public had a negative impact on her career. She stated that she refrained from getting involved with men for over ten years as a consequence.
While talking with a leading news agency, Ameesha said, “In this industry, honesty is not welcome and I am someone who is very honest. I am someone who wears my heart on my sleeves. I think that has been the biggest drawback for me in my life. And definitely, the only two relationships that I ever had in public, the only two I ever had, they did take a beating on my career. For 12-13 years, I was like, ‘No men. Only peace. I want nothing else in my life’.”
The actor further discussed the impact it had on her professional life, stating that being single is always seen as more attractive by the people she works with and by audiences. There is a perception that being single or dating someone in the industry or a superstar only benefits one’s career, and anything else is not accepted. In contrast, a female lead dating a male lead can still work together and continue to receive work opportunities. However, that was not the case for her. So, it had a negative impact, but she learned from it.
