Prince Louis steals the spotlight during Trooping the Colour appearance

Prince Louis delighted royal fans once again today as he pulled faces at his siblings and grumpily covered his ears while celebrating Trooping the Colour – at one point covering his nose making it appear as though he’d smelt something unpleasant.

The five-year-old was on fine form as he travelled to Horse Guards Parade in a carriage with Prince George, nine, and Princess Charlotte, eight, on Saturday.

They were accompanied by the Princess of Wales and Queen Camilla, but that didn’t stop Louis from getting up to his usual antics at the King’s Birthday Parade.

In one moment, the youngest Wales child covered his nose and mouth in what is thought to be disgust, after he caught a whiff of horse poo.

A photo of the unexpected moment shows the five-year-old clasping his nose with one of his hands.

Underneath his hand, Louis looks as thought he may be grimacing slightły.

Meanwhile, his old sister Charlotte looks on, seemingly unfazed by her brother’s behaviour, and looks on nonplussed.

Today was no different, and the young royal was spotted pulling a range of faces at his siblings.

There was also some scene stealing behaviour from the five-year-old while he was on the Buckingham Palace balcony, where he was spotted doing a small dance, as well as a military-style salute.

Photographs captured Prince Louis grimacing from the back of the carriage as he sat beside his brother and sister, who were unperturbed by his spirited behaviour.

The eight-year-old is equally unfazed in other photos, which shows the youngest sibling shouting and covering his ears as a royal flypast travelled overhead.

The royal party travelled in the middle of a Sovereign’s Mounted Escort formed by troops from the Household Cavalry’s Life Guards and Blues and Royals.

George, Charlotte and Louis then joined other royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony for a flypast – after one set for the King’s Coronation was scaled back in May.

Images from the balcony also show Louis engaging his fun side, as he covers his ears at one point to block the extremely loud noises.

Meanwhile, another photograph taken during the flypast shows the prince holding out his arms in a funny pose, and later appearing to break into a dance.

Some 70 aircraft from the Royal Navy, British Army and the Royal Air Force took part in the display, which lasted around six minutes.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) said today’s aircraft took off from 15 locations up and down the UK before meeting in the south-east of England and flying over London.

The event ended in a show of red, white and blue from the pilots of the Red Arrows.

The siblings appeared to be carefully coordinated for the day when it came to their outfits.

Princess Charlotte, eight, wore a white dress with red detailing, while her hair was pulled back in intricate braids that came together in a low bun.

Her brothers George, nine, and Louis, five, wore matching navy suits, white shirts and red ties – with their hair combed neatly to the side.
