The Flash has had a long and slow sprint to its release. The latest DCEU film directed by Andy Muschietti was initially slated for 2018. Ezra Miller who is set to return as Barry Allen has been at the centre of several criminal charges and arrests. The headlines were bad enough to wonder if the film will be released at all. Five years is a long time so one can be forgiven for losing the plot. From the plot to the characters, here’s everything you need to know about The Flash.
What is the plot of The Flash movie?
The Flash pulls from the Flashpoint story that sees Barry Allen travel back in time to change the course of events that led to his mother’s murder when he was a child. Chaos ensues when his time jump creates an alternate reality in which the Justice League doesn’t exist. Here Bruce Wayne was killed, Martha Wayne was The Joker and Thomas Wayne became Batman. The film sees Barry make an attempt to save his mother from her mysterious killer. Like in the comics, the film takes on the multiverse. However, there’s more than one surprise. For starters, the film features two Batmen – Ben Affleck’s Batman and Michael Keaton’s Batman. Barry finds himself trapped in a reality with a younger Barry and did we mention, General Zod is back? The superhero then seeks the help of a seemingly retired Batman to find an imprisoned Kryptonian and it’s not who you think.
