Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani who recently tied the knot hosted a grand wedding reception at St Regis in Mumbai on Sunday for their friends in the industry. Many Bollywood celebrities such as Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kajol, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Ananya Panday, and others were in attendance. One of them was veteran actor Anupam Kher who was seen dressed in a black kurta.
Yesterday, the actor took to Instagram and shared a picture with Alia Bhatt with a heart-warming note about her and called her a ‘born actress,’ while also praising her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film, Gangubai Kathiawadi.
He wrote, “Dearest @aliaabhatt! It was so wonderful to meet you after such a long time at @sidmalhotra & @kiaraaliaadvani’s wedding reception. Lovely chatting with you about days when you were in school and how I always teased you about you being a born actress. Love your performances. Especially #GangubaiKathiawadi. You were spectacular. Keep going! Love and prayers always!”
Replying to this, Alia shared an Instagram story and thanked the actor. She wrote, “Love you Anupam uncle – will never forget all that I learnt about acting growing up by just watching you and all your movies again and again and again… biggest hug ever.”
On the work front, Anupam Kher was last seen in Shiv Shastri Balboa alongside Neena Gupta.
Alia Bhatt will next be seen in Karan Johar’s romantic comedy Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, co-starring Ranveer Singh. She’ll be making her Hollywood debut with the spy film Heart of Stone alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. She will also be seen alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Katrina Kaif in Farhan Akhtar’s directorial Jee Le Zaraa.
