Adani Effect: The “Adanisation” of NDTV is visible now

After 2014, leftist media portals have upped their ante in spreading their side of the narrative, even at the cost of National Interest. In the hatred against PM Modi and his party, all these media portals have stooped to the lowest of the lows. They have not shied away from twisting, turning, hiding or altering the facts of the case to peddle their falsehoods.

NDTV had been the frontrunner among these leftist agenda portals. Evidently, it shamefully changed the name of gun wielding accused Shahrukh Pathan to Anurag Mishra. However, in their desperation to take slingshots at its naysayers, it lost all credibility and viewers. It seems that all this may change quickly and these leftist media portals will stop their nefarious agenda for once and for all.

NDTV does the unthinkable

Recently, a shocking turn of events emerged. Apparently, NDTV ran an interview with Former President of the United States Donald Trump. It is important to note that leftist media, including NDTV, had needlessly pointed fingers at the comradery of PM Modi and Donald Trump. Moreover, they had, at several occasions, tried to present Donald Trump as the devil’s incarnation, worst politician, Islamophobe and what not. So, this interview of Donald Trump seems to be a sign of an upcoming gradual shift in NDTV’s reportage.

Even if the above interview is assumed to be a fluke or an unusual collaboration, then we have another shocker for you. Apparently, NDTV has published an article titled as “ ‘He Said Marry Me Or…’: Muslim Man Arrested For Stalking Hindu Woman”. The article highlights a case of “Love Jihad”.

As per NDTV, accused Monu Mansoori was arrested for threatening a Hindu girl to convert to Islam and marry him.

The police informed that accused Monu Mansoori had also threatened another woman in January this year. He was put behind bars in that case but was out on bail.

It is important to note that NDTV in past had been refuting to accept that gory cases of love jihad exist. It insanely criticised state governments to form laws to give protection in such horrific cases.

Adani acquired stakes in NDTV

Earlier, the world’s third richest man, Gautam Adani had bought a major stake in NDTV. Adani group acquired a 29% stake of NDTV through a third party, to which the Roys had sold the stake in 2009. Moreover, the Adani group also floated an open offer for an additional 26% shareholding of the company. So, if the Adani group gets another 26% shareholding through an open offer, it will become the majority stakeholder in the media house.

The co-founders Prannoy and Radhika Roy hold 32.26 per cent in NDTV. Currently, they are the largest shareholders in the leftist media house and control the firm. However, the Roy couple have been accused of being involved in financial irregularities and money laundering. So, if Adani gets the majority stakes in the company, NDTV will go through many more such changes and shun its rhetorical reportage.
