President Joe Biden will pay an official visit to a construction project managed by the company of a big Democratic donor on Thursday, as part of a Chicago-area trip to talk about Covid-19 vaccines.
Biden’s comments are scheduled to take place at a construction site run by Clayco in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, according to a press release from the White House. Clayco CEO Bob Clark has contributed $1.6 million to Democratic campaigns, including at least $166,000 to Biden’s latest presidential run, according to records with the Federal Election Commission.

Clark also has raised money from other people on behalf of Biden, serving as a bundler and bringing in at least $100,000, according to the Biden campaign.
The president’s trip to the Clayco site will be his only stop on an itinerary that will take him from D.C. to Chicago for an afternoon. Founded in 1984, the St. Louis-based Clayco is a privately held architectural, design, engineering and construction company. It has 2,400 employees and $3.3 billion in annual revenue.
Neither the White House nor Clayco immediately responded to inquiries.
Clayco CEO Robert Clark donated $100,000 to the Biden Victory Fund in July 2020.
