Lakshadweep, the archipelago in the Arabian Sea has been in the middle of a controversy for the last few days over the Draft Lakshadweep Development Authority Regulation 2021 (LDAR) introduced by Praful Khoda Patel, the newly appointed Administrator of the Union Territory.
Among the policies of the new administration that are being opposed are: banning candidates with more than two children from contesting Panchayat polls, the removal of illegal storage facilities along the coast, and the strict order to boat owners against leasing/renting their boats to individuals without proper permission from authorities.
Besides, Patel has also given a nod to allow the opening of liquor bars on the island, to promote tourism. Further, he has also proposed to bring in a beef ban and eliminate non-vegetarian food from the menu of Anganwadi children whilst also citing animal preservation as one of the reasons for the ban.

However, the liberals around the country that have dubbed Patel as the ultimate villain of the island are up in arms about the opening up of liquor stores when they shamefully demand beef to be made available all over India. The hypocrisy is one of the reasons why it is difficult to hold the liberals in high regard.
Despite having a Muslim population of over 96 per cent on the island, according to the 2011 census, if the Islamist, communists and liberals can wrongfully claim that Patel is trying to undermine the ‘Islamic character’ of Lakshadweep by allowing liquor to be served — the same could be said by the majority of Hindus across the country when liberals try to force beef upon them, knowing well and truly, it hurts their religious belief.
Cow is considered a sacred animal in India, and the slaughter of cows is banned in most of the states except Kerala, West Bengal, and Northeastern states. Cow slaughter is a punishable offence, as per the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, passed by the then Union government under the country’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
Most people of Lakshadweep are descendants of migrants from the Malabar Coast of southwest India and the islanders are ethnically similar to coastal Kerala’s Malayali community. And we have already seen in the past how the liberal-minded politicians of Kerala have hosted Beef parties to supposedly rile up the Hindu sentiments.
Last year, under the leadership of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) general secretary Advocate K Praveen Kumar, the Congress party organised a beef party to oppose the move of the Pinarayi Vijayan government to drop beef from the menu for the state police trainees.

Simply put, the Islamo-leftist cabal wants the public of Lakshadweep to languish in a bygone era, amidst poverty and lack of opportunities. Patel dared to change that and in return, received a bucketful of hate and backlash. Meanwhile, the liberals once again exposed the fallacy in their twisted beliefs.
