Alia Bhatt’s first production venture, Darlings, is shaping up marvellously. The film will mark the directorial debut of Jasmeet K Reen. According to media reports, Darlings will also have the added magic that only Gulzar and Vishal Bhardwaj can provide. The musical duo have come on board to provide lyrics and music for the film. Darlings has been written by Parveez Shaikh and Jasmeet K Reen. The teaser of the film also mentions that disrespecting women can be extremely dangerous to one’s health.
Gulzar and Bhardwaj go way back – the two of them have previously collaborated on films like Omkara, Chachi 420, Kaminey, Haider and Ishqiya. Darlings will star Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew. The film will trace the lives of two women, a mother-daughter duo who belong to a conservative middle-class neighbourhood. The dark comedy will be set in Mumbai and goes on floors this month.
