Karan Johar Marks 11 Years Of My Name Is Khan And Thanks SRK And Kajol

Today Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan completes 11 years. It’s a film which is considered as one of the finest works by the director and the most matured love story. 11 years back when Karan Johar had taken a detour from his storytelling skills, where he had promised his next won’t have extra candyfloss romance, people didn’t know what to expect from him. He gave us a movie that is one of the finest gems in our cinema and brought out the best performances from Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.

Karan Johar today shared a video to mark the 11th anniversary. The video has some glimpses from the film and the beautiful Noor-e-Khuda playing in the background. The director has thanked everyone for the film, his writer, his bhai – Shah Rukh Khan, his favourite leading actress Kajol and has penned down a note filled with gratitude and love. He says, “All we have is our stories and this one will be cherished forever. Thank you bhai for being the soul of this film. Kajol for being an unbreakable rock to Rizwan and us. To Shibani for writing a story that is still relevant in today’s world… And to the entire team that embarked on this challenging journey together. I will always be grateful to each and every one of you.”

Shah Rukh Khan

My Name Is Khan was one of the biggest blockbusters in 2010, the film won several Filmfare Awards that year including Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) – Shah Rukh Khan, Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) – Kajol and Best Director – Karan Johar. This is also the film where his next proteges Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra were assistant directors and got prepared to face the camera in 2012 with Student Of The Year. A lot of memories and stories attached to this film.
