Leaving no stone unturned, BJP is going all out to win Hyderabad

In order to teach Owaisi a lesson in his home-turf, BJP has fielded all its top leaders in the city of Hyderabad for the upcoming municipal elections. Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah attacked KCR on dynasty culture and Owaisi on Nizami culture.

“Give one chance to the BJP in the GHMC elections. We shall transform from dynasty rule to democratic rule, from corruption to good governance, from secrecy to transparency. We shall transform Hyderabad into a Mini Bharat and not be stuck in Nawabi and Nizami culture,” Shah said while speaking to reporters at the party state headquarters after the roadshow.

Amit Shah also thanked former Home Minister of India, Vallabhbhai Patel, for making Hyderabad an integral part of India. He held an hour-long roadshow at Warasiguda in Secunderabad- the Hindu majority part of the city of Hyderabad where BJP expects to win most of the seats.

The Union Home Minister said that AIMIM leaders have encroached lakes, waterfronts, and Nalas and this caused destruction in many parts of the city in the recent floods, but TRS (the ruling party in Telangana and GHMC) will not take action against them. “But the TRS government has remained silent as it sought to appease the MIM. Not even one stormwater drain was constructed in the last six years. If BJP is voted to power in the GHMC, we shall demolish all illegal structures,” he asserted.

He also attacked Owaisi on the illegal immigrants’ issue and said, “Let Owaisi give it in writing. We shall drive away Rohingyas immediately.”

BJP is a resurgent force in Telangana. The party bagged the second-highest number of seats in the Greater Hyderabad region in the 2019 general elections along with winning the Secunderabad seat. Besides, BJP also won three more seats and emerged as the second-largest party of the state, winning four seats out of 17. Moreover, the party even won the Dubbak assembly by-polls.

It was only a few days ago that Karthika Reddy, the former mayor of GHMC and a senior Congress leader, joined BJP. Congress, which used to be a major political force in the state till 2014 and the single largest party in GHMC after the elections of 2009, was reduced to only two seats, which is, less than that of BJP, which had won four seats in the 2016 GHMC election.

Greater Hyderabad has a large Muslim population- around 42 per cent- and it is also home to the Owaisi brothers under whose reign Muslims of the city are being radicalized and oppression against Hindus is evident every day. Given the fact that KCR is already an ally of Owaisi in the Telangana assembly, the only party which can fight for Hindus in the state is BJP.

TRS is eying for Hindu votes as the majority of Muslim votes will definitely go to Owaisi’s AIMIM and BJP plans to replace TRS as the party of Hindus because KCR’s ‘secular’ credentials are a matter of public knowledge. The Hindus, who are regularly being oppressed by AIMIM’s party workers in the state, would definitely prefer BJP over TRS and, therefore, the saffron party is all set to triumph in the upcoming GHMC polls.
