- Russian looked hugely relieved as his weight of 155-pounds was called out
- He has missed weight in the past and struggled with slimming down in time
- Justin Gaethje looked composed and appeared to make 155-pounds easily
There were no dramatic last-minute hitches as Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje weighed-in at 155-pounds for their UFC 254 title fight.
Khabib looked hugely relieved after the announcer read out his weight and the Russian had to undress to make the limit.
The champion put his hands to his face in, clearly thankful the hardest part of the week is now behind him and the main event has a green light.

Justin Gaethje appeared in strong condition as he hit the championship mark with ease
Gaethje flexed his muscles on the stage, wearing a mask, and looked in strong condition.
The UFC were so worried one of their headliners would not be able to fight that they flew out Michael Chandler to serve as a possible replacement.
Chandler also made weight so if for whatever reason Khabib or Gaethje cannot make it to Saturday night, he will be able to step in.
Khabib has endured weight cutting issues in the past and prior to the Conor McGregor fight even admitted ‘having seizures and feeling very ill’.
The champion looked gaunt on the scales and will immediately begin rehydrating
Prior to his scheduled bout at UFC 209 against Tony Ferguson, Khabib pulled out after a botched cut and later revealed he ‘almost died’.
At the time he said: ‘The doctor say, “you cannot fight. You almost die. How you fight? How you can fight if you almost die? We say no fight, 100 percent. No make weight. No fight. No nothing. You need to stay in the hospital for seven hours, we have to make sure your body is good.” But I feel I almost died.’
Thankfully there were not the same obstacles this time around, although the 28-0 star looked gaunt on the scales.
Both he and Gaethje will now concentrate on rehydrating their bodies and fuelling up again for Saturday night’s huge showdown.
Michael Chandler is the back-up to the main event and he also made weight on Friday
