MUMBAI: Three women labourers died while two others sustained injuries after a retaining wall of an under construction site in Virar collapsed on Tuesday evening.
The wall came crashing down at around 5pm, trapping the workers under the debris of the construction site of a redevelopment property.
The Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) fire brigade personnel reached the spot and pulled out the labourers. While three of them were declared dead on admission, two others sustained injuries.
Around a dozen labourers, all daily wagers, were working at the site in Virar (East). Identities of the victims are being ascertained.
