22 years of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham: Kajol recalls Aryan Khan’s debut,…

Kajol and Karan Johar commemorated 22 years of their film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, fondly known as K3G, which debuted on December 14, 2001. The two shared nostalgic video montages from the movie on Instagram. Kajol reminisced about Aryan Khan’s screen debut in the film, recalling his role as the child who rushes to embrace Jaya Bachchan, revealing an interesting tidbit about his involvement.

Sharing an Instagram post, she wrote, “22 years to K3G. Another acronym but yes another long-lasting memory!!! Yash uncle actually renovated and made new makeup rooms in Filmistan studios permanently just for the shooting of this film because even with the vanity vans it was not going to be enough for this gigantic starrer! Karan Johar collapsed and fainted on set because of dehydration in the first few days… it was really really hot! And this was Aryan Khan’s debut on screen! It was also I think my first comeback (not sure about this part though) too many comebacks ago. And the first and only time I stood in front of the pyramids and truly felt them with my soul… so yes, this was a truly HUGE film in every which way, in life and cinema!”

Shah Rukh Khan’s son made his initial appearance as a child actor in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, portraying a younger version of his father’s character alongside Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan.

Karan also shared a video montage on Instagram Reels, expressing gratitude to the cast and crew, saying, “My annual reminder of ‘It’s all about loving your family’…and my audience, who have kept the spirit of K3G alive even 22 years later. Eternally grateful to magnificent and magnanimous cast – Amit ji, Jaya ji, Shah Rukh bhai (brother), Kajol, Duggu (Hrithik) and Bebo (Kareena) and all other special people in the cast and crew for just making this journey the most memorable one! Thank you today and always.”

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham saw a stellar cast come together to narrate a tale of love and loss. From Kareena’s iconic portrayal of Poo to Shah Rukh and Kajol’s enchanting love story as Rahul and Anjali, the film left an enduring legacy that stands the test of time.
